We'll dig into examples of new 4th and 8th grade Forward Exam item sets and standalone items, including those focusing on engineering and how those work. We'll discuss how these items align to the new Wisconsin Standards for Science and NGSS, focusing on sense-making of phenomena. We'll also discuss new conceptions of cognitive complexity related to assessment items, moving beyond traditional Depth of Knowledge (DoK).
