Teacher will separate various color dyes using electrophoresis. This sets the foundation for DNA electrophoresis as it illustrates the separation of molecules by size and charge. In this lab the teachers will have hands on opportunity to pour a gel, run it, take a picture of the gel results and analyze it to determine what was in the unknown dyes.
