This session will focus on how to integrate the mastery delivery model into course instruction through the use of standards based grading. Using leveling of instruction, paired with a standard, students can actively track their learning and prepare for on-going assessment.

I will share how I took an ecosystems unit and changed it to be more of a placed based curriculum about the Yahara River Watershed. We will discuss how we as teachers might use local issues to connect students to science in their local communities. Have you had success with doing something similar?
