Dr. Amanda Zbacnik is an assistant professor of Special Education at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Amanda, in her previous career as a special educator in K-12 schools, has worked with individuals having special needs in multiple disability categories: ID, OHI, EBD, SLD, ASD, and MD. Working at the high school level, allowed Dr. Zbacnik to focus on transition for students with special needs and collaboration with multiple stakeholders (therapists, of all types, and community transition agencies). In the summer of 2018, Dr. Zbacnik spent time volunteering at North Country Ride (Find your Stride). This organization is an equine therapy program that focuses on building individuals with disabilities’ confidence and core muscular strength through the riding experience.
