Darlene Arneson serves as the Wisconsin Agriculture in the Classroom Coordinator for the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation in Madison, Wisconsin. She served in that position for ten years, left for another job for 2 ½ years and returned to WFBF in October 2016. Works with teachers of all grade levels and volunteers by providing agriculture education resources that will help to increase the agricultural literacy in our state. Coordinate volunteer training for counties to assist them in developing an Ag in the Classroom program. Administer funding from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Responsibilities also include staffing display booths at teacher conventions and trade shows; administering the Matching Grant, Teacher Mini-Grant and Outstanding Teacher programs; completion of required reports, and developing new programs and activities.

Darlene had served as the Dane County Agriculture in the Classroom coordinator from 1990 – 2004. Served for ten years on county level and was appointed to the Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Ag in the Classroom Steering Committee. She also served as Dane County Farm Bureau President and on many Farm Bureau committees on the county and state level. She was an Agriculture Education Instructor and FFA Advisor at Cashton High School and Cambridge High School from 1986 – 1990. She was responsible for teaching the agriculture and natural resource classes, served as FFA and class advisor, assisted the FFA Alumni and developed curriculum for program. Managed the school farm that was donated to the school district.

Darlene has a Bachelor of Science - Agricultural Education from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She and her husband have three grown children and live on her husband’s home farm near Stoughton, WI. They are active in Sons of Norway on the local lodge, district and International level; FFA Alumni- Darlene is a past Wisconsin FFA Alumni President and long-time affiliate secretary; and First Lutheran Church activities. Darlene is a former 4-H Club Organizational Leader and served as the Dane County 4-H Leader’s Association President.
